President's Profile: Matthew Steven

Matthew Steven is a software engineer with over a decade of experience in the web development industry.

He has authored hundreds of software applications and overseen the production of numerous others. His development philosophy places a high emphasis on using best practices, OO design techniques, and adequate testing.

Matthew invented the first browser-based search engine submission program, called SearchStuffer, and later renamed DeepSubmit, which were of immense help in promoting websites to all the major search engines prior to Google's revolutionary impact on search engine promotion.

Matthew graduated magna cum laude from Iowa State University, home of the world's first electronic digital computer, with a BLS degree. His concentration included a mix of Computer Science and Software Engineering. He is a lifetime member of UPE, an honor society for distinguished computer science students.

Matthew is active in public service through the Amateur Radio community, including regular participation in Amateur Radio Emergency Services drills and activities. He is married to nutritional researcher Joanna Steven and blessed with several furry children.
